Kneeling at the foot of the Cross

When my daughter Alyssa was nine years old she knelt at the foot of the cross and asked Jesus to come into her life. The end of this month she will be 19 years old.

Over the years, my husband & I have witnessed many battles over this child, each one looking as if Satan had victory over the Cross. Her choice to walk away from the Truth has left her with life changing consequences.

By this summer she will be the young mom of 2 babies only 14 months apart.

This past April we welcomed our blessing Amiyah into this world. I was actually holding her little 7 month old body in my arms when was told the news of my daughter’s 2nd baby due to arrive in June. Two babies with only 19 years of life under her own belt.

How Lord?

How will she do this and how am I to show her grace…again?

By kneeling.

Kneeling at the foot of the cross.

By leaving your daughter at the cross with Me. Leaving your worries with Me.

That’s how.

Daily I have to trust Him as I pray for her return to Him. I believe with all of this mother’s heart that she will return to what she knows is The Way, The Truth and the Life.

In the meantime, I will kneel at the foot of the Cross on behalf of my granddaughter and her brother or sister on the way and also for my daughter.

And I will choose to praise Him in advance for the day she kneels and humbly asks the One who sacrificed so much upon the Cross for her to invade her life again.

Thank You sweet Jesus for what You have done for each and every one of us.

There is nothing we have done to make You not want us.

A teen pregnant twice in a year the world looks upon with much shame and yet You only see her as your beautiful creation as You are knitting her baby in her womb with much love and detail.

I love that about You Lord.
